Oliver Weiken (b. 1983) began his career 1996 while still being a student with the local newspaper ‘Warsteiner Anzeiger’ and shortly after with Bongarts Sportfotografie.
In 2003 he joined the German Press Agency (dpa) as junior photographer before moving to the European Pressphoto Agency (epa) for whom he worked for 11 years from bases in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
In 2017 he returned to dpa to build their new English photo wire and serve as Chief Photographer for the Middle East and North Africa from their Cairo office.
